The basic frame work of Audi R8 is based on the Audi space frame consist of aluminium monocoque built according to space frame principles.The car is built at "Audi Aluminium site" a newly constructed factory at Neckarsulm in Germany.
This Eye catching model of the Audi R8 was going to be used as new road car in 2007 as announced by Audi in 2005. The audi R8 is based on the Audi Le Mans Quattro concept car(designed by Frank lamberty and julian Hoeing), appearing at the 2003 International Geneva motor show and 2003 Frankfurt International motor show. This program started in 2004,Lambertys design being accepted and kept secrete for it production. Production started prototype formed and field testing started in january 2006. Finally the Audi R8 was lanuched at the paris auto show on 30 sep 2006. It has been given the title of "Best Handling road car today".Its also the first production car with full-LED Headlamps.
